Welcome to Poetic Zest
Hi there!
I’m Alexandria Soller, a curious mind with a passion for exploring.
I was raised in a small town in North Eastern Pennsylvania and attended college in an even smaller town in Central Pennsylvania.
I graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications in May 2018.
Growing up in such quaint places has instilled a passion for travel in me— also allowing me to appreciate the smallest of details everywhere I go.
I am always looking for the best local bar or street food; I love meeting new people (My entire career is based on creating lasting relationships!); One of my favorite things is stumbling upon unexpected art; and can I pet your dog?
In the 23 years that I’ve walked this colorful, underappreciated planet, I haven’t checked nearly as many places off of my bucket list as I have been adding lately.
I have been to numerous East Coast beaches, to include one of my favorites: the Outer Banks, North Carolina; I’ve been on a couple of cruises; My family took a vacation to the middle-of-nowhere, Ohio, to see the Rocking Roll Hall of Fame, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Cedar Point (and still quesion: who decided to put those attractions there?); and I trekked across the country twice on two different routes with two different co-travelers and two different vehicles.
My greatest travel experience thus far is my visit to Greece in May 2017 (Thanks, Uncle Joe!). We started and ended the trip in Athens, spending a few days each in both Mykonos and Santorini in between. I wish I had a helicopter just so I can have authentic Greek food regularly (nothing I’ve tried has come close to what I had there).
I ate my way through Greece, and most of the foods remain my favorites to this day (Soulvaki, Tzatziki, Santorini Tomato Balls, etc.).
In June 2019, I finally allowed myself to be recklessly curious— leaving a comfortable life to move across the country to the Greater Seattle area in search of something more.
My hopes for this blog is to share my story and inspire others to also live recklessly curious and kind— in their own way. The name, Poetic Zest, represents my enthusiasm for experiencing everything with an imaginative and emotional spirit.
